Elon Musk Sues Companies Boycotting Advertising on X

X, Led by Elon Musk, Files Lawsuit Against Major Advertisers
The social media giant X, under the leadership of Elon Musk, has recently filed a lawsuit against prominent advertising companies. The basis of this lawsuit is a collective boycott organized by advertisers against X. The lawsuit includes major names such as Unilever, Mars, CVS, Orsted, along with dozens of other advertising firms.
X alleges that these companies, through an initiative by the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), are involved in "withholding billions of dollars in ad revenue." The lawsuit draws attention to the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), an initiative under WFA, accusing it of orchestrating a conspiracy that "threatens our future" by boycotting X.
Companies that wish to join GARM must adhere to the organization’s safety standards, which include not advertising on social platforms that do not meet these criteria. X claims that GARM is pressuring companies to boycott platforms like X that do not comply with these safety standards, leading to the lawsuit.
In a related video, X's CEO Linda Yaccarino stated, "The evidence and facts are on our side," adding, "They have orchestrated a conspiracy that threatens our future by boycotting X."
Elon Musk, in a separate social media post, called on all companies boycotted by advertisers for similar reasons to take legal action, claiming that this behavior could be considered "organized crime." X is seeking compensation if these actions by advertisers are deemed illegal.
The outcome of this lawsuit remains a major topic of interest, and it will become clear in the coming months whether the company will achieve its desired result. (Sigorta Haber)
